Danica Montgomery, student activities coordinator revealed that this year's Carnival would get a whole new look. New logos for each of the four teams (Gremlins, Armadillos, Lizards, Tasmanian Devils) got a whole new "retro" logo in the style of our current school logo.
A new general "Winter Carnival" logo has been created, featuring each of the four teams and some of the most popular events.
Montgomery states that, "I wanted a generic logo for the entire event to be able to put out into the community and I wanted to go to a simpler more traditional look for the individual team logos." She also states that she wanted to really show its long-standing, traditional presence in the school. She also wanted to show that the names of the four teams spell out "GALT". Watch out for the new Carnival Rep shirts which will feature the team's logo as well as the general logo. You probably have seen them while looking at the team list on Tuesday.
Watch out for more Carnival updates. Continuing from last year, the Piper Post will be posting daily standings as soon as Carnival Week starts.
Starting right away, if you make a poster for your team and go to Student Activities to get it approved, it adds a point to your team! Show your team spirit! If you make a digital poster, you get 1 point per design.
