From April 18th to 19th, the Level 4 EH class, accompanied by a few current Level 5 EH students that were part of the program last year, took a trip to Ottawa. They sat in on Question Period at the House of Commons and took a haunted walk tour to learn more about the history of the area. The next day, they visited the Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum.
At Parliament Hill, the Galt students got to meet with Compton-Stanstead MP and Agriculture and Agri-Foods minister, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau. She spoke about her job, and some of the proceedings at the House of Commons. The students got to ask questions to the MP about things they're intrigued in, such as how different processes work in Ottawa, to compare them to how they were at Galt. They got to sit in at Question Period, a time where the members of the opposition get the chance to ask questions to the Liberal Party about issues that matter to Canadians and their constituents.

A level 5 student, Valérie Papillon, said, "Question Period at the House of Commons was an unforgettable experience for all of us. I personally enjoyed seeing all of these parliamentarians from the front row and realising they all have a sense of humility."
Galt Model Parliament Prime Minister, Evelyne Lefebvre got the chance to meet and talk to the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau. Lefebvre stated that meeting our Prime Minister is an experience she'll never forget! "Even though the interaction was short, it will be forever engraved in my mind! He was very kind! I received his autograph, and two pictures with him! I would’ve never had this experience if it wasn’t for Marie-Claude Bibeau, minister of Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada, and I’m forever grateful for her and her gratitude!"
