From March 1st to March 9th, several of our Galt athletes qualified for the Jeux du Québec games for Estrie, including one member of the Estrie boys gymnastic’s team and all members of the Galt curling team. The Jeux du Québec happens once a year and brings together Quebec’s best 12-to-17-year-old athletes in an intense, high-level competition. Winter finals are held in odd-number years and summer finals in even-number years. This year's Jeux du Quebec was held in Rivière-du-Loup from March 3rd to March 11th.
This is a huge congratulations to all athletes for qualifying for these games. They all fought extremely hard in the few days of competitions, in order to secure a spot in the top three. In the end, the boys gymnastics team placed fourth of 16 teams, only 0.3 points away from taking home the bronze medal. The Galt Curling team placed 8th of 19 teams! A huge accomplishment for both teams!
