For all Cycle 2 students, it's the Into the Stars school dance this Friday, from 6-9 pm. More than 100 people bought tickets! There are a few rules that will need to be followed, as outlined by an email sent by our Student Activities Coordinator.
Cycle 2 Dance - Into the Stars
Things you need to know!
Time: 6PM - 9PM Doors will be open at 6PM and stay open until 6:30PM. If you arrive later than 6:30PM, you will not be permitted into the dance.
Tickets: Tickets must have been purchased in advance, and are not available at the door. When a ticket is purchased, the associated number is assigned to a student. This will be checked at the door when you arrive. Please ensure you have your ticket with you, and your student ID for verification. Once entered into the dance, you will not be permitted to leave the dance area until the end, or with a parent/guardian. ONLY Cycle 2 Alexander Galt students are eligible to buy tickets.
Transportation: Unfortunately, we were unable to secure late buses for after the dance. This means you must arrange your transportation to and from the dance. With the exception of the Dance Committee and the Student Council, no students are permitted to stay on campus afterschool. IMPORTANT NOTE: For the safety and security of our students, students are NOT permitted to drive themselves to the dance in their own vehicles and must be dropped off using the main entrance gate.
Dress: The theme of the dance is “Into the Stars”. As this is a school function, the school dress code applies. No boots, high heels or other footwear that could damage the gym floor. Please wear running shoes. This is not a formal dance, you can dress as formal or as casual as you would like. Sunglasses will not be permitted.
No backpacks or purses will be permitted at the dance. If you come in with such items, you will be asked to leave these items at the door. Comfort baskets with personal hygiene products will be provided in the bathrooms.
You will NOT have access to your school or gym locker, so please plan ahead and ensure you have your shoes etc. in advance.
Food & Drinks: You are permitted to bring a “reusable” water bottle to the dance, but it must be empty upon arrival. If full we will ask you to empty the contents. It can be filled once inside at the water stations.
Each student will be given a free drink once inside, included in their ticket. Small snacks will be available for purchase, CASH only. Most items will be from 1 to 3 dollars.
Smoking, Vaping, Alcohol or Drug Use: ZERO TOLERANCE. Any student found under the influence or with related paraphernalia will be immediately removed from the dance. For safety and security, students WILL not be allowed or have access to the corner before, during or after the dance.
Safety & Security: A group of professionals, staff and volunteers have been assembled to monitor the dance activities. In addition, there will be police presence to ensure the safety and security of all students and personnel.
